Boltly Tools compresses, converts and edits images, videos and PDFs, and records your screen, entirely on your own computer.
Files you add and recordings you make are processed inside your browser. They are never uploaded, copied or sent anywhere, and we never see them.
The screen recorder asks your browser for permission each time, and only if you turn those options on. Recordings stay on your device until you save them.
From using the tools: none. Your files are never sent anywhere. The free tools need no account, and there is no advertising. The extension contains no analytics. Its only browser permission is "identity", used solely for the optional Pro sign-in with Google.
The Boltly website counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics and measures page speed with Vercel Speed Insights. These use no cookies and store nothing on your device. They record anonymous, aggregated facts about a visit: the page, the site you came from, your country, and your device type, operating system and browser. Vercel discards the raw request data (including your IP address) and does not identify you or follow you across other websites. They never see your files or anything you type into the tools. Details: Vercel Analytics privacy.
On the website, the AI background remover downloads its model file once from Boltly's file server (Cloudflare). That is an ordinary file download; your photos are not part of it.
If you suggest a feature on the Boltly website, we keep your idea, the email you choose to give (optional, never shown; used only to tell you when it ships) and a one-way hash of your IP address for one hour's spam limit. Votes are counted with a random ID stored in your browser.
Pro is bought on the Boltly website. Payment is handled by Razorpay, which receives your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your card or UPI details. To give you Pro we keep your email address, the plan you bought, its end date and the Razorpay order and payment IDs. Razorpay emails you the receipt.
Pro is tied to your Google account. When you press "Sign in with Google" in the Pro window, Google shows its own sign-in and sends Boltly your email address (nothing else from your Google account: no contacts, files or profile). The Boltly server (on Supabase) uses it to look up your Pro, and the extension checks again about once a week while you are signed in. If you never sign in, the extension makes no network requests at all.
The sign-in result (your email and Pro status, signed by our server) is kept in your browser's local storage so Pro works offline. Signing out in the Pro window, or uninstalling the extension, deletes it from your device. To have your purchase record deleted, email us.
Your chosen options (such as quality and theme) and a small "total saved" counter, and your Pro sign-in if you signed in, are kept in your browser's local storage on your device only, and are removed when you uninstall the extension.
Boltly Tools includes open-source libraries under the MPL-2.0, MIT, Apache-2.0 and LGPL-3.0 licences. The list is in the NOTICES.md file inside the extension.
